BESTEG exists in order to promote and facilitate communication and interaction between tropical ecology researchers. We are a specialist group of the BES, and organise special symposia at the BES Annual Meetings, early-career researcher meetings, and publicise tropical papers, jobs and events. BESTEG @ the BES Annual Meeting

BESTEG are involved with three events at the BES Annual Meeting in Leeds (7-9 Sept):

(i) BESTEG Specialist Group Meeting: The Packhorse Pub @ 8.30pm Tuesday 7 Sept

Special Presentation: Roel Brienen, RAINFOR network, Leeds University

Roel will be talking about the Rainfor, the Amazon forest inventory network of 1-ha forest plots that extends throughout South America. He will be describing the exciting results from this large-scale international collaborative endeavour.  www.rainfor.org

We will also be summarising the past year, discussing plans for 2010/11, including the Early Career Researcher Meeting in Newcastle.

There will be FREE WINE and NIBBLES!

We will meet people after dinner in the Refectory at 8.30pm on Tuesday 7 Sept. and walk over to the pub. You are welcome to make your own way there later, of course...
